About The DROP System

Overview

Designed to be your whole-home water management infrastructure, the DROP system ensures you have clean, pure water when and where you need it. It also monitors water usage, alerting you about excessive water use and mitigating water damage when something goes awry. And because it’s smarter than a lot of your friends–they know who they are!– you can customize DROP to fit your family’s needs and lifestyle.

Using a proprietary wireless network called DROP Link, the DROP Hub controls and coordinates the DROP devices contained within your home water system. And because the DROP Link is separate from and on a different frequency than your home WiFi, your home is monitored and protected even if your internet goes down.

The Hub is the only component that has a WiFi radio on it. The following three connection modes give you complete flexibility to set up your DROP system to best suit your needs.

1. Direct connection: The DROP Hub creates its own secure WiFi network. Using the DROP app on a smart phone or tablet, you can connect directly to the Hub and view status and change settings. This mode makes it possible to take full advantage of the DROP system even if you don’t have an internet connection. 
2. Local WiFi connection: This option is very similar to direct connection mode, but with the advantage of being able to utlize to the DROP system without having to change the WiFi network on the smart phone or tablet you’re using to connect.
3. Cloud connected using DROP Connect web services. This option allows the DROP Hub to connect securely to DROP Connect servers, which enables notifications to be sent when there is an event that needs your attention. Cloud connection also allows you to monitor and control the DROP system from anywhere you have an internet connection.

That’s why we’ve made it super easy to add DROP products to your system in the future. Adding a new element to the DROP network is as simple as prompting the Hub to look for new devices.

The DROP Connect app, available for both Android and Apple smart phones and tablets, gives you full control over your DROP system. Along with putting deity-level dominion over your DROP system in the palm of your hand, the app’s intuitive interface also gives you both helpful hints and full descriptions of system settings so you’ll never be out of the loop.
